Over the last decade has been providing positioning services across Europe for applications requiring high accuracy. To complement their service offering they decided to develop a high-accuracy positioning device for the survey and GIS market. TERIA evaluated several possible GNSS receivers that would fit their requirements. They needed L-band functionality integrated inside the GNSS module to connect to their existing satellite-based TerriaSat service. Finally, they selected the Septentrio mosaic-X5 for its reliable survey-grade RTK positioning with multipath resilience and high security thanks to anti-jamming and anti-spoofing technology. And all this contained in a small module form-factor with low power consumption ideal for a hand-held.
TERIA acquired a to test out the module and create a prototype. It was just what they needed. The integration process went quickly and smoothly, there was plenty of online documentation and highly trained Septentrio customer support was there to confirm their schematic design. Welcome PYX: the all-in-one, EU-made positioning device. It was time to put it to the real test against the competition. Under harsh GNSS conditions, under forest canopy and in urban canyons, PYX outperformed its competition by delivering significantly more RTK fixes, while under open-sky conditions the performance was similar to competition.
